Kosher salt is a type of salt that is made by compressing table salt into large crystals. It is not necessarily prepared according to Kosher guidelines, but it is used in preparing Kosher meats by absorbing blood. Kosher salt is favored in commercial kitchens because ofits coarse grains.
Sea salt is a type of salt that results from evaporating salt water. It includes other minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, that affect its flavor slightly. In addition to cooking, sea salt is used in some cosmetics.
